The location
Georgioupolis is built on a green idyllic bay 35 km from Chania and 22 km from Rethymnon away. The quiet, traditional village offers a number of possibilities so much for entertainment as for your shopping spree (restaurants, cafe, bars, shops e.t.c).
The incredibly beautiful location of the village, among mountains, sea, rivers and the natural lake of Kournas, holds exceptional beauty on the whole island of Crete.
The enviroment
The enviroment of the region remains unspoiled, allthough there has been a rapid touristic development over the last years:
- The sandy beach of Georgioupolis is over 10 kilometers long and is considered to be one of the cleanest beaches of the country
- The village is surrounted by a portected area with unique animals and plants
- Not far away, you can find the only natural Lake on Crete, the Kournas Lake
We place exceptional emphasis to our enviromental policy. Our hotels have their own modern biological cleaning systems and solar energy is being used as well.
